WordPress hosting comes in many shapes and sizes. There are WordPress hosting solutions which are developed especially for high traffic WordPress websites and there are WordPress hosting solutions developed for low or medium traffic WordPress websites. At the same time, they come in many different price range as well. There are expensive solutions, there are affordable solutions and there are also premium solutions.
In other words, choosing a WordPress hosting is really a matter of budget and traffic.
For this post, I’ve decided to focus on WordPress hosting solutions that are affordable. I did my research and gathered all the WordPress hosting providers that offers affordable WordPress hosting solutions. Of course, I have also taken reliability, quality, and reputability into consideration before finalizing the post.
Note: This is not a top 10 post and the WordPress hosting providers listed below are not arranged in any particular order.
In my opinion, GoDaddy is the largest web hosting company in the world. They are everywhere. Even if you visit countries in Asia, you will see an advertisement for their products. You turn on the sports channel, and you will also see an advertisement for their products. There are no other web hosting companies with better advertisement coverage than them. However, if you think otherwise, feel free to comment below about your thoughts.
In terms of WordPress hosting, they have laid out four plans. Their cheapest plan is called Basic which is priced from $6.99 per month. The Deluxe, Ultimate, and Pro 5 plans are priced between $9.99 per month and $30.00 per month.
Free domain name is included with all of their plans which are purchased annually.
Officially recommended by WordPress.org since 2005, Bluehost is also an affordable solution. They have three WordPress hosting plans available; Basic, Plus and Choice Plus.
Their Basic plan starts from $2.75 per month which makes it a much affordable solution compared to GoDaddy. The other plans are priced between $4.95 and $5.45 per month. A free domain name is also included with their annual plans.
Bluehost has an advanced WordPress hosting solution that comes with more features and better performance. The solution is called WP Pro. WP Pro has three plans parked underneath it; Build, Grow and Scale. They are priced between $19.95 per month and $49.95 per month.
Compared to the other two WordPress hosting providers above, InMotion Hosting doesn’t really have an appealing website. Their website sort of look quite outdated. However, their servers work as good. In other words, the English idiom “don’t judge a book by its cover” really makes quite a lot of sense with InMotion Hosting.
For their WordPress hosting plans, they have a variety of six. The cheapest one is priced at $7.26 per month and the most expensive one is priced at $119.28 per month.
A free domain name is also included with all the plans.
Used by WPBeginner – the largest WordPress resources blog, HostGator is also an option which should not be left unnoticed.
They have three different plans available; Hatchling, Baby and Business which are priced at $2.75, $3.95 and $5.95 per month respectively. In other words, almost similar pricing plans compared to Bluehost.
Unfortunately, there’s no free domain name included.
Similar to Bluehost, DreamHost is also recommended by WordPress.org. And it’s also affordable.
What’s interesting is that they have three types of WordPress hosting solutions. There’s a shared WordPress hosting solution, there’s a managed WordPress hosting solution and there’s a VPS WordPress hosting solution.
The shared WordPress hosting solution is the most affordable solution among the three. The price starts at $2.59 per month.
The managed WordPress hosting solution on the other hand is a little pricier due to the added benefits such as increased performance + security. Price starts at $16.95 per month.
Finally, there’s the VPS WordPress hosting solution which enables better control on the server. Price starts at $27.50 per month.
Free domain name is included with all the solutions.
Similar to HostGator, A2 Hosting also does not include a free domain name. But, they do have an affordable WordPress solution.
In fact, there are two solutions to choose from; Shared and managed. The shared plans are priced between $3.92 and $9.31 per month. The managed plans are priced between $11.99 and $36.98 per month.
iPage is sort of like the go-to web hosting provider for beginners who really have no clue about websites. This is because their basic shared hosting solution is priced at $1.99 per month and they are also good at targeting that particular market when it comes to advertising their brand.
But of course, iPage can also be used by advanced users as they do offer advanced solutions such as dedicated and VPS hosting.
For their WordPress solution, they have two plans available; WP Starter and WP Essential. The WP Starter is priced at $3.75 per month and the WP Essential is priced at $6.95 per month.
There’s also a free domain name included.
Hostinger has quite a unique background compared to the other brands on this list. This is because they started as a platform that allows users to create websites and blogs for free. Once they started to get a huge crowd creating websites and blogs, only then they begin charging for their services. But the good news is that they manage to crunch the numbers into bits so that they get users to still use their services without actually scaring them away.
For their WordPress hosting service, the price starts as low as $0.80 per month. This pricing is for the Single plan. There’s also a Premium and Business plan. They are both priced from $2.15 and $3.45 per month respectively.
On top of that, they offer a free domain name as well. However, the free domain name is only available with their Premium and Business plans.
1&1 IONOS also have very competitive pricing plans similar to Hostinger. All their WordPress hosting plans have a starting price of only $1 per month. However, this price is only for the first year. After the first year is over, the real price starts to kick in.
The real pricing for the plans after the first year are $9, $11 and $15 per month.
There’s also a free domain name included. The Essential plan gets one free domain name, the Business plan gets two free domain names and the Pro plan gets five free domain names.
GreenGeeks is a web hosting provider which uses green energy. In other words, they are the only eco-friendly solution on this list.
Besides reducing environmental pollution, they also manage to reduce their price to something which is favorable to most users. They have three WordPress hosting plans available; Ecosite Starter, Ecosite Pro, and Ecosite Premium. The price starts at $2.95 and ends at $11.95 per month.
One free domain name is included for all the plans.
EasyWP is quite a new player in the WordPress hosting industry. They were only launched in 2017.
Although new, I find them to be reputable as they were developed by NameCheap – a domain name registrar with more than 11 million domain names under management. I’m guessing this new WordPress solution is sort of to pave the way for their users who are interested in creating a WordPress website or blog.
Pricing wise, it’s affordable too. They have three plans to choose from; Starter, Turbo, and Supersonic. And they are priced $3.88, $7.88 and $11.88.
No free domain name included.
AccuWeb Hosting is a name that is buried quite deep in the web hosting industry. But, they do offer some good hosting service and they have plenty of hosting solutions available. WordPress is one of them.
They have three plans available in the name of WordPress; Personal, Business and Enterprise. They are priced affordably between $3.49 and $9.99 per month.
And yes, there’s a free domain name included for each and every plan.
I would have never known this web hosting company if it wasn’t for Visual Composer – one of the best website builders out there. This is because, as I was browsing Visual Composer’s website, I found a page published which contains their recommended WordPress hosting providers. They recommended two WordPress hosting providers – Bluehost and One.
I immediately checked out One and find out that they do offer affordable hosting solutions too! Of course, I also did my research on their reliability, quality and etc. They passed with flying colors.
They have three plans under their WordPress hosting solution. They are all priced under $10 per month. Cheapest at $3.95 per month.
No free domain name.
More than half of the WordPress hosting providers listed in this post offers a free domain name registration. However, the free domain name is only meant for one year. After the one year period is over, you will need to renew the registration with the money from your own pocket.
That’s not the case with FastComet. They offer free domain name registration year after year – for life. And yes, this is the only WordPress hosting provider here with such a deal.
Pricing wise, $2.95, $5.95 and $9.95 per month.
TMDHosting is my last find after a couple of days researching for the best + most affordable WordPress hosting providers out there. If you think I have missed out on any, please leave a comment below on what the establishment is called and I will consider updating this list.
TMDHosting is another name that is buried quite deep similar to AccuWeb Hosting. But after researching about it, I found that they were actually an editor’s choice in PC Magazine. They also offer plenty of hosting solutions.
Their WordPress hosting solution consists of three plans as well; Starter, Business, and Enterprise. They are priced at $2.95, $4.95 and $7.95 per month respectively.
A free domain name included.
