Bluehost is one of the largest shared hosting provider in this planet that we are living in. And the main reason for it is because they are affordable, they are experienced and they provide a good service.
But what about performance? Could it be a contributing reason too? Let’s find out.
I subscribed to their most affordable shared hosting plan which is Basic and I set up a simple WordPress blog with a few published posts.
After that, I used Pingdom’s website speed testing tool to identify the page loading time of the blog from six different locations. The following is the outcome.
The blog loads within 2.05 seconds in Tokyo.
The blog loads within 1.51 seconds in Frankfurt.
London, United Kingdom
The blog loads within 1.53 seconds in London.
San Francisco, U.S.A.
The blog loads within 1.02 seconds in San Francisco.
São Paulo, Brazil
The blog loads within 2.36 seconds in São Paulo.
The blog loads within 2.35 seconds in Sydney.
As you can see from the results above, the blog manage to load around 2 seconds in most locations. And 2 seconds is in fact within the recommended loading time which is under 3 seconds.
This shows that the performance that comes with Bluehost shared hosting plans is another reason for their success. Kudos to Bluehost and their team!
