What is a milestones page?
A milestones page is a page that displays the achievements of a business throughout the time of operation or important progress points of a project towards its ultimate goal.
With that said, if you want to add a milestones page or an event timeline page in your WordPress website, the following tutorial will walk you through the step by step process.
Step 1: Install and activate the Timeline Express plugin
Once activated, you will be automatically redirected to the welcome page of the plugin that looks like the following screenshot:
Step 2: Add announcements
Timeline Express uses announcements to add a particular milestone or an event. To add your first milestone or event, hover your cursor on the Timeline Express tab and click on New Announcement.
And you will be brought to a screen that looks like this:
Here, you can add the title of the first milestone, select a colour, icon, set the date of the milestone, add an image and a short description.
Once you have added it, click on the Publish button.
You can add as many milestones or event timeline by repeating the similar process above.
Step 3: Add a new page
Hover your cursor on the Pages tab and click Add New.
Then, add a title for the page. Preferably something related to the milestones or event timeline. To show you as an example, we are going to call it Our Milestones.
After that, click on the Timeline Express icon from your visual editor toolbar.
By doing so, a shortcode will be generated.
That’s all you need to do. Go ahead and publish the page.
View the page and it should look something like the following screenshot:
You have successfully created a milestone or event timeline page for your WordPress website.
Simply place this page anywhere that’s easily accessible to your WordPress website’s users such as the menu navigation, sidebar or footer area.
