By default, when you add a new WordPress post or page, the URL will be automatically generated by WordPress based on the title of the post or page. And this can be annoying if you want the URL to be something else.
Well, thankfully, WordPress gives you the option to edit the URL of every post or page.
In the following tutorial we will show you how to edit the URL of a WordPress post. The similar tutorial can also be used to edit the URL of a WordPress page.
First things first, head over to the post editor screen which you want to edit the URL
Here’s an example:
Next, click on the Edit button which is located on the same row as the Permalink section.
By doing so, you will be able to edit the URL to anything you like. And once you are done editing, click on the OK button.
That’s all you need to do. You can go ahead and publish or update the post for the URL changes to take effect.
