How to Embed Google Calendar in WordPress Without a Plugin

Do you want to embed a Google Calendar in your WordPress website or blog for visitors to see? If you do, I have found a way to embed it without using a plugin.

Here I will show you how it’s done.

First, head over to your Google Calendar account. Then, access the Settings Menu located at the top right-hand corner of the screen.

And followed by clicking on the Settings option.

After that, from the Settings menu, locate the calendar which you want to embed and click on it.

Next, scroll down to the Access permissions section and make the calendar available for the public to see.

Once that’s done, scroll even further down to the section that says Integrate Calendar and click on the Customize button.

You will then be redirected to another screen where you can customize the appearance of the calendar such as the size, the navigations, the background color, the time zone, and more other stuff.

Customize everything according to your preference and when you are done, copy the HTML code located at the top of the screen.

Once you have copied the HTML code, you can go ahead and paste it in a post or a page in your WordPress website or blog.

For this tutorial, I’m going to have it appear on a page. So, I will paste the HTML code like this.

And here’s an example on how it appears on the page for visitors.

Of course, your calendar appearance could vary for your visitors depending on how you set it to be.

On the other hand, I don’t recommend pasting the code on your sidebar as the calendar doesn’t seem to appear properly. If you want the Google Calendar to appear on a sidebar, I recommend using the Simple Calendar plugin to embed it and have it appear without any glitches.

The downside with this method of embedding the calendar is that it involves quite a lot of steps.

The good news is that there’s a YouTube video published on it to walk you through the steps. The following is the video:
